The students, staff, and families of Lake Park Elementary School (LPE) are hosting their 28th Annual Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, February 9th at the school, located at 1295 14th Avenue North.  Check-in for all walkers begins at 7:30 A.M., followed by the walk beginning at 8:00 A.M.  Naples Mayor John Sorey will kick things off as the event’s Grand Marshall.  The route will follow a stroll over the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s new bridge and entrance, through the Naples Zoo, and then back to LPE for the event’s silent auction and carnival.

LPE students have been working to collect pledges for their walks.  Money raised will be used to purchase classroom supplies, supplemental teaching tools, technology, and other educational resources.  Funds will also go toward student incentives and other school events.

In addition, the LPE Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has received donations from local Naples businesses, as well as LPE families, for the silent auction.  Some items up for bid include hotel stays, sports lessons, dining, golf outings, backwater fishing charters, and gift baskets collected by LPE students, staff, teachers, and families.

The Walk-A-Thon is open to the public.  Official event t-shirts will be available for purchase, with proceeds directly benefiting LPE students.  Join in on this family event for a great cause – the students of Lake Park Elementary School.
