Developmental Literacy Points for re-certification through Reading Endorsement Courses

• In July 2023, CCPS Reading Endorsement courses were revised with updated indicators according to state statute.
• Due to the revision, Reading Endorsement Competency 1, 2, or 4 indicators now satisfy the requirements needed to qualify for Developmental Literacy points for re-certification.
• Therefore
  • Participants who complete Competency 1, 2, or 4 of the CCPS Reading Endorsement starting from August 2023 will receive 60 MIPs, with all points applicable towards DL for re-certification.
  • Those who completed Competency 1, 2, or 4 of the CCPS Reading Endorsement before August 2023 earned 60 MIPs, but none of these points are eligible for DL re-certification.
• Teachers who already have Reading Endorsement prior July 2023 or Certification are able to take Competency 1, 2, or 4 for the DL points if so desired.
